Coming in for Labor Day from OC Cal. to visit my Mom. She asked what she could cook for me and I told her forget about it, I'll be eating lunch, dinner and late night at Don's! Been living in Cal for 30 years and they still can''t cook a good hamburger or hot!'
My Grandparents lived in Irondequoit in the 50's and 60's. My brother and I would come up from Pittsburgh from a visit every summer. The nites we were good, we would go to Don and Bob's in Sea Breeze for a frozen custard. I have tasted frozen custard in a lot of different places, but none compares to Don and Bobs. I lived in Rochester in the mid 70's and frequented the Sea Breeze location.
worked for don&bobs 1961 or 62 for joe barbato, nello and tommy were the other grillmen. started out at .80 or .85 an hour. hots and burgers were great. stopped by for a hot 1st time in twenty years burger was good wish they still had pop open franks.
